The Taverna Pane e Vino is a restaurant in the historic center of Cortona, which is housed in the old cellars of a 14th century building: in this cozy restaurant our guests can find the authentic Tuscan atmosphere full of friendliness and hospitality. The restaurant is on Piazza Signorelli and during the summer it is also possible to eat outside, both in the atrium and on the square.
The Taverna is characterized by natural and simple food and gives particular attention to the quality of ingredients. Our wine list includes over 950 different labels and even some wines sold by small wine producers and natural wines. You can taste a different glass of them by turns.
Our traditional dishes include bruschetta with beans and herring, bruschetta with black cabbage, Cinta senese pork cold cuts and Lardo di Colonnata, pecorino cheese matured in oak barrels and Robiola di Roccaverano, traditional soups and home-made pasta, home-made cakes and handmade ice-creams.
A special mention for the main courses, made only with ingredients of our land, like Raw Chianina Beef, Chianina beef stew or Cortona’s fake "Tuna".
Our wine list gives particular attention to natural wines, which are produced without adding synthetic and chemical products on the vineyard and in the winery.
During winter time we organize guided wine tasting with important expert on the national scale. Our restaurant is recommended by the best wine and food guides of Italy.
We are open for lunch and for dinner until late at night.
